School closings because of NATO Summit 2012
 
Due to the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) Chicago Summit, all classes have been cancelled for Midwestern Career College for the following days: Saturday, May19, 2012, Sunday, May 20, 2012, Monday, May 21, 2012. ALL College offices will remain close during these dates as well. Midwestern Career College will re-open for classes and business as per regular schedule Tuesday, May 22, 2012.

Ten Programs are Now Part of Financial Aid/ FAFSA
 
A total of ten training programs are now part of Financial Aid/ FAFSA: Certified Dialysis Technologist, Surgical Technologist, Certified MRI Technologist, Radiology/X-Ray Technologist, Cardiovascular Sonographer, Diagnostic Medical Sonographer(General/OB-GYN/ Vascular Ultrasound), END/EEG Technologist, Advance Pharmacy Tech, Diploma in Medical Assisting, and Advance Medical Billing and Coding Training Programs are now part of Financial Aid/ FAFSA.

Midwestern is now an AAS Degree Granting College
 
Illinois Board of Higher Education (IBHE) approved Midwestern Career College’s application for Associate of Applied Science degree in Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) Technology. The College had initially started this application process with the IBHE in 2007 and went through a rigorous review process of the IBHE and eventually the application was approved on December 6, 2011. The College Administration would like to appreciate the hard work put into this process by the College Staff, Faculty, Members of the Faculty Council, Members of the Advisory Board, Members of the Clinical Sites, and IBHE Staff.

This is to inform all the MCC students that 1098-T forms for the year 2011 are now ready for pickup from the school for your tax filing purposes. This form can also be emailed to you after we receive your authorization via an email on info@mccollege.edu.

Surgical Technologist: Registration is now open
 
MCC (formerly CCAH) is getting ready to launch Surgical Technologist Training Program. Surgical Technologist Training Program has been submitted to ISBE for approval. The College will announce class schedules for this program upon receiving approval from ISBE. Surgical Technology Program is designed for in-depth coverage of Human Anatomy and Physiology, Surgical Anatomy, essentials of Pharmacology, Microbiology, and Immunology, Anesthesia methods and agents, Fundamental technical skills, Care of the Patient in Surgery, Legal and Ethical Aspects, and development of professional Interpersonal skills. This course will provide students, with advanced knowledge of how to apply principles of aseptic and sterility techniques in the operating room, knowledge and skills in operating sterile and no sterile operating room equipment, knowledge and proficiency in sterile draping technique, sterilization technologies, intra operative patient’s safety, surgical site management, wound retraction and exposure, temporary and permanent homeostasis, layered wound closure, knowledge and proficiency in using surgical instruments, intra operative and postoperative tissue handling.

Orientation for Electroneuro Diagnostic (END/EEG) Technologist
 
CCAH is getting ready to start first batch of Electroneurodiagnostic & Electroencephalograph (END/EEG) Technologist Training Program. Because of externship requirements, only up to 12 students will be accepted. Interested candidates are encouraged to call and make an appointment for the orientation session.
